Family holiday packing list: one list for the whole family
Packing for a family means packing for several people with different needs, and it’s easy for the shared things to fall between them. This list is split into what each person needs and what the household shares.

Tips
- Give each person their own list, or their own section. “Did you pack the chargers” gets very confusing when two people think the other has.
- Pack the things that are hard to replace first: medicines, passports, comfort items.
- If someone else is packing for the children, share the children’s list so they can tick things off for you.
- Take a reusable list. The next holiday starts from what worked on this one.
Common questions
What’s the best way to pack for a family?
Most families do best with one list per person, plus a shared list for things nobody owns, like chargers or sun cream. That way each person’s things stay together and shared things don’t go missing.
How early should I start packing for a family holiday?
Start the list a week before and add to it as you think of things. Pack a day or two before, leaving out the things you’ll use until you leave.
Can my partner or nanny see the list?
In Zipi you can share a trip with a link. Whoever opens it can tick things off the list, without needing an account.
